Excel functions, as an add-in inside Excel

The same thing as the web tool, but in the worksheet. Select a formula and see it in English. Paste an English formula and get it written in your language. Look up what a function is called. Formulas are translated locally in your Excel — no formulas or cell data are sent anywhere.

What the add-in does

Select a cell, see the formula with English function names. Copy with one click. Updates when you change cell.
Written to the selected cell and then shown in your language. Undo with Ctrl+Z as usual.
Type a function name in any of the six languages and get the English name, category and Excel version.

The translation is done by Excel itself. The add-in sends nothing on, sets no cookies and has no tracking.

Getting started

After you enter your email address you'll get a message with the download link and step-by-step instructions for your platform. In short:

Unzip the file first – you need the manifest.xml inside it.
Excel on the web: the Add-ins button (far right on the Home tab) → More Add-ins → the MY ADD-INS tab → Upload My Add-in → choose manifest.xml.
Excel for Windows: put the folder with manifest.xml in a shared folder and add it as a trusted add-in catalog in the Trust Center.
Excel for Mac: copy manifest.xml to ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Documents/wef.
